SCOTLAND

Dreadnought Hotel

Scotland's dramatic history spans 8,000 years marked by invasions and independence, wars and religious upheavals, intrigues and subjugations. Such a history has left its mark on the nation's psyche - and its landscape - and has contributed in no small way to the fierce pride with which the Scots view themselves and their country today.

Hotel Description

The Dreadnought Hotel was originally built in the 17th Century by the Chieftain of the clan, McNab, as a hostelry for his fellow clansmen travelling to the north. The Dreadnought has since remained an important landmark, as well as retaining a distinctive character of its own, from the wood panelled lounge bar to the architecturally listed stained glass windows.
Centrally situated in the popular holiday town of Callander, this 17th Century Hotel successfully combines the attractions of a historical building with modern day comforts, with 61 comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Callander is the gateway to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, making it the ideal location for a Scottish break.
